Stoneware from a quiet Utah room

Vases shaped by desert light and patient hands.

Clayman is a small Utah ceramic studio led by Tobiah, who throws quiet stoneware vessels in a spare workshop outside Torrey. Each form carries the marks of the wheel, the clay body, and the dry country around it.

The artist

I am Tobiah, the hands behind Clayman.

I make my vases slowly in small groups, then carve, dry, fire, and finish them with matte mineral surfaces that feel closer to stone than shine.
